The Company sets long-term objectives with shareholders and investors, which inevitably rely on gaining investor trust, particularly in terms of a solid and sustainable business strategy that guarantees the Company’s growth. Indra appears to have been producing an integrated report since 2008, from which time they have positioned themselves as a ‘growth company offering sustainable value’ and reporting by individual stakeholder group as well as integrating through the report. content review: Innovation is the central theme to Indra’s Report with the aim of this innovation to diversify their offering of products and grow into new markets. The key figures which are presented at the front of the Report cover economic, social and environmental performance with comparative data from previous years also included. Indra’s take on providing an integrated report is to refer to the ‘sustainable value’ of their solutions and services stating that their innovation, “encompasses and extends to all spheres, including energy efficiency systems, emissions measurement, control and management, and remote control of the environmental aspect of sustainability”. The market trend discussion makes reference to the ‘big picture’ world by mentioning an “interconnected and interactive world”. This infers that Indra consider themselves as part of this world and therefore have a responsibility to make a positive impact and consider the implications of decisions in the medium and long-term. A dedicated section is titled ‘sustainable innovation’ and includes information on economic, social and environmental issues. This section links to the remainder of the Report by again stating the importance and centrality of Indra’s innovation capacity to be the cornerstone of their approach to sustainability. Indra provides some sustainability data and achievements in a timeline format which demonstrates continuous improvement in this area over a period of five years. A section on stakeholders presents substantial information – both qualitative and quantitative – on each group as well as outlining targets on which Indra will work towards in the coming year. The final section of the Report is titled ‘commitment and results’ and it gives the reader an outline and overview of what their commitment had been the previous year, their performance this year, and a clear symbol of whether the goal has been achieved or not.
